Most people never think about their AC unit until it stops working on the hottest day of the year. By then, you're looking at a much bigger problem - and usually a much bigger bill. A routine check-up is exactly what prevents that.

Here's what we were working with on this one: a unit that had built up a heavy layer of dirt and debris across the condenser coils. That kind of buildup is more than just an eyesore. It forces the system to work harder to push air through, which drives up energy use and puts extra wear on the internal components over time.

We pulled the access panel and went through all the internal parts - the contactor, capacitor, and wiring connections. Everything got a close look. That's the part of an AC check-up that most people don't see, but it's where small problems hide before they turn into big ones. A capacitor that's starting to fail or a contactor showing wear won't always throw obvious warning signs, which is why actually checking them matters.

After the cleaning and inspection, we hooked up the manifold gauges and ran the system to verify refrigerant pressures and overall performance. That's how you confirm the system isn't just running - it's running right. No guessing, no assuming. Just data.

Dirt and buildup quietly chip away at your system's efficiency season after season. Getting ahead of it with a solid AC check-up is one of the easiest ways to protect what you've got and stay comfortable when the heat actually shows up.
